Dell Announces New S2240T Touchscreen Monitor

If you’re using Windows 8 on your computer, you probably know by now that there are certain elements in the operating system that works better on touch-based devices. And this isn’t surprising at all since the operating system was designed for touch-based devices in mind such as tablets and AIOs.

But if you’re migrating from a traditional computer that ran Windows 7, a touchscreen monitor isn’t really something that’s lying around in your house, right? Fortunately, there are touchscreen monitors you can buy if you really want to get the full Windows 8 experience. And just recently, Dell has unveiled a new touchscreen monitor that may well be the solution you’re looking for.

Dell’s 21.5-inch Touch monitor offers flexibility with a multi-touch functionality and offers users images and videos in Full HD with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Display has a 3000:1 contrast ratio for bright, clear images with amazing onscreen detail.

The display also has an ergonomic stand that can slide the panel towards the user. The stand also has a tilting mechanism that can tilt the display up to 60 degrees, perfect for designers and those involved in various media. Moreover, the S2240T features a number of ports including HDMI, DVI and VGA ports that enable direct connections to any desktop, laptop, camera, phone and other electronic devices to enhance almost any view.

It also features edge-to-edge glass for a smooth touch experience plus an image enhancer designed to sharpen images, improve color hues and boost color contrast. On top of it all, the S2240T features an Auto mode which offers a choice of pre-configured color settings to optimize the appearance of individual applications.

Dell has also considered improving power management in this model. The S2240T consumes power 28.57 percent lower than the previous-generation Dell Touch monitor. Furthermore, this model is packed with a couple of power-saving features including Dynamic Dimming and PowerNap, both of which adjust the screen in order to save energy.
