Gigabyte may not be the most popular brand of computer in
the market today, but it isn’t also new in the PC industry either. The
Taiwanese firm has been in the business of producing motherboards and graphics
cards (and occasionally smartphones and laptops) for the past two and a half
decades or so.
This time around, the company has upped its game by
announcing a new gaming laptop at this year’s CES – the Aorus X7.
The Aorus X7 comes with an Intel Core i7-4700HQ processor
clocked at 2.4GHz-3.4GHz, up to 32GB of RAM and either a 500GB mSATA SSD or 1TB
HDD of storage. However, the Aorus X7’s most interesting features are its two
Nvidia GTX 765M graphics chips, which are arranged in an SLI configuration.
The display on the laptop is 17.3 inches in size and packs a
resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The X7 also comes with a backlit keyboard,
three USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, a Killer LAN chip, 802.11ac,
Bluetooth v4.0, two 2-watt speakers, a subwoofer and a 73.26Wh battery.
The Gigabyte Aorus X7 will be available by March with prices
starting at $2099.
